Name: Ring Necked Pheasant
Binomial Name: Phasianus colchicus
Adopted: Legislation of 1943

The Ring Necked Pheasant or Common Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus torquatus) is a game bird in the pheasant family.

The male Common Pheasant has barred bright brown plumage and green, purple and white markings, often including a white ring around the neck, and the head is green with distinctive red patches.
