October, 1999 to January 2001 events:
Nevada is planning a 15-month-long New Year's party to celebrate the new millennium. The festivities will kick off on Nevada Day, Oct. 30, 1999, and last until Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 15, 2001. Nevada's millennium festivities will be the nation's biggest, brightest and longest New Year's party ever. Visitors will be able to celebrate the millennium by attending one or several special events planned during the 15 months.
