Primary Agriculture:
Nebraska's fertile soil, abundant surface and ground water and favorable climate combine to make agriculture to make the state's number one industry. Cash receipts from farm marketings reached almost 9 billion dollars in 1993. Nebraska currently ranks first in the nation in alfalfa meal production and great northern beans production.

Primary Industry:
A wide variety of products are manufactured in Nebraska. As could be expected, food processing is Nebraska's largest manufacturing industry. Some examples of processed food are flour and flour products such as noodles and cereals, dairy products and meat products. Durable goods manufacturing is rapidly expanding and includes such products as capacitors, electrical machinery, farm equipment, metal buildings and automotive parts.
