Formal and informal fashion shows, exhibits, and special interest meetings are but a few of the events to savor. There are 1, 2, and 3 day workshops, seminars and super seminars lead by outstanding instructors in the fiber arts. Spend 6 days and 7 nights on the trail working cattle just as cowboys have for over 100 years. Throughout the fall eagle migration approximately 1000 bald eagles come to feed on spawning salmon during this 6 week period every year. November 1- November 30, Cross Country Fall Ski Camp
During November, West Yellowstone, Montana comes alive in lycra. The early snow brings cross-country ski enthusiasts from around the world to train on the superior Rendezvous Trail System. Residents of this small mountain community eagerly await this season each year — looking forward to greeting old friends and meeting new ones. Plenty of lodging choices, some with kitchens and some with full training table meal plans, are available. And, as well, a few restaurants are open to cater to this special crowd. Thanksgiving week, as always, will feature technique clinics, manufactures exhibits, motivational talks, wax clinics, racing events and an overall warm feeling of camaraderie. November 11- November 14, Christmas Collection
From Wednesday evening, November 10, through Sunday afternoon, November 14, the second floor of the Paris Gibson Square in downtown Great Falls will be transformed into a holiday wonderland for the 20th Annual Christmas Collection, Great Falls’ premiere holiday arts and crafts shopping extravaganza. Ranging from cute and quirky to extraordinarily beautiful, this eagerly anticipated annual event features original work by hundreds of the fines craftspeople and artists in the Northwest. Proceeds from each year’s Christmas Collection benefit the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art’s exhibitions and programs. House in a 100-year-old registered National Historic Landmark building, Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art is the second largest contemporary art museum in Montana. While shopping at Christmas Collection 1999, visitors are encouraged to explore the museum galleries and tour the historic building, originally opened in 1896 as the city’s first high school. There is no admission fee for the Museum of Art. Christmas Collection treats more than 5,000 people each year to a winter wonderland of treats for the eyes, ears, and taste buds! Arts and crafts from throughout the Northwest region are displayed in delightfully decorated theme rooms including Cabin Fever, Grandma’s Attic, Country Christmas, The Gibson Inn, and Arctic Village. November 24, Conrad Christmas Stroll
Conrad’s home town stroll provides a wonderful diversion in the midst of the Thanksgiving season. Old friends meet in Conrad’s downtown district where they are treated to the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at the Pondera County Courthouse with local talent providing a musical backdrop. Santa arrives on a horse drawn wagon to officially begin the stroll. The younger children are treated to a carnival hosted at the local school, while parents can enjoy shopping on Main Street. A miniature train ride is also provided for the smaller shoppers. Horse drawn wagon rides are furnished for the entire evening, shuttling shoppers from the shopping center to downtown to a live nativity to the bell ringers performing in one of the local businesses. November 28, The Nutcracker
This colorful new production by the San Diego Ballet Company brings costumes, sets, and dancers never seen in Montana on November 28th, 2:00p.m. and 7:30p.m. at the Alberta Bair Theater. The Nutcracker Ballet, always a special holiday treat, includes dances which will give you and your family a lasting memorable experience. The San Diego Ballet Company performs the Nutcracker in the traditional style, with a beautiful set design and dancers that inspire and warm the hearts of the audience.
