The American Robin (Turdus migratorius) is a migratory songbird of the thrush family and breeds throughout Canada and the United States.

It is 10–11 inches long and has gray upperparts and head, and orange underparts, usually brighter in the male. The adult males of the species grow distinctive black feathers on their heads during breeding season, and they lose this eye-catching plumage after the breeding season is over.
